Weekend Retreat - Relax - Write - Re-Ignite November 10th - 12th 2017

LOCATION | ACCOMMODATIONS:

The course will be held at REC Retreats . The seminar includes two nights stay at the  REC Retreat house in Lummi Island, WA.   The rooms are primarily triple occupancy and include meals.   There will be dinner Friday evening, breakfast, lunch, and dinner Saturday, and Brunch on Sunday.  A hot tub will be available throughout the weekend, as well as an outdoor campfire on Saturday night.

Meals included:  Local Organic meals (Ciao Thyme) for dinner Friday, breakfast, lunch (sandwiches), and dinner at Beach Café on Saturday, Breakfast on-site on Sunday. 

 

 

The contact hours will be 18 hours.

PROFESSIONAL PRESENTERS:

Bridget Boylan, PT LAc, EAMP 

Bridget Boylan graduated from Northeastern University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and Wu Hsing Tao School of Five Element Acupuncture in October, 2004 with a License to practice Acupuncture.  She has studied Myofascial Release with John Barnes, PT as well as Alchemical Acupuncture mentorships with Lorie Eve Dechar, LAc. She has studied Aromatherapy through Peter Holmes, LAc. Bridget combines Alternative and Western medicine to provide holistic treatments with her clients in Bellingham and Everett, Washington.

Georgette Jowdy, Life Tour Guide

Georgette has an extensive background in couples communication and conflict resolution, as well as support of individual journeys which allow one’s inner wisdom to facilitate integration and healing.   She was part of an educational community for 12 years, serving on the policy board for 8 years.  Georgette is sought for counsel because she is known for her deep compassion, her regard for the sacredness of all life, and her respect for the courage it takes to be truly human and allow our authenticity to emerge and transform us. 

Kandy Hughes—After retiring from teaching school in 2012, Kandy went back to school to become a yoga teacher. She is certified in both Kundalini Yoga ( as taught by Yogi Bhajan) and Yin Yoga. She teaches group classes and private yoga classes several times a week in the south sound. Kandy lives in Auburn with her husband of 41 years. They have five grown children and lots of grand kid

 

Mitzi Szereto (mitziszereto.com) is a multi-genre fiction author and anthology editor of more than 24 books including the recently released horror novel Florida Gothic; The Thelonious T. Bear Chronicles cozy mystery series; Getting Even: Revenge Stories; The Wilde Passions of Dorian Gray; and Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts. She gives talks and readings at major literature festivals and teaches writing workshops around the world, including festivals and teaches writing workshops around the world, including universities.

 

Exploring the Inner Self in a Five Element perspective, utilizing yoga principles, archetypes and journal writing.

DESCRIPTION:  The objective of this retreat is to learn how to get in touch with the body’s knowledge through inner sensing, utilizing the five elements in Nature and applying it to our own lives. We will experience yin yoga postures, discuss archetypal concepts to ground ourselves in the medicine of theFive Elements, and use individual journeys for self-discovery.

You will experience ways to relax the body and mind toward a more centered experience of Self by freeing yourself of old “stuff”. There will be a guided journey for exploration of our inner landscapes. 

This is not a seminar, so leave your pencils at home.  It is permission to restore yourself and get away from the daily grind, a letting go to allow something new to emerge.

Experiential learning includes:  Creating a relationship with the Elements in Nature , Making your own Journal, Understanding the Creative Process in Writing, and discovering Alchemy in your journey through life.

Retreat Non-Schedule:

Saturday, November 11th::   8:30am-  8pm

There will be several activities that are voluntary and offered at two times, allowing for reflection time, beach walking, a one hour massage, or a visit to the hot tub. Yin yoga will be offered from 8:00—9:15 each morning, and is optional. 

Sunday, November 12th 8:30am- 2:00pm

Group Sharing:  11:00am -12:30pm to share our dreams, ahas, and creative inspirations throughout the weekend.
